In Exodus 19, the Lord calls Moses to meet with Him on Mt. Sinai.  The Lord called the people to obey Him and keep His covenant.  He said if they obeyed they would be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. The Lord told Moses to prepare the people for 2 days and on the 3rd day HE would meet with Moses.  On the 3rd day the people approached the foot of Mt. Sinai and Moses met with that Lord on the Mountain and told him to warn the people not to approach the Lord.  This communicated the absolute Holiness of the Lord.  The people could not approach Him on their terms.  Moses was their mediator.  Thankfully Moses role as mediator was only to point to the ultimate mediator, Jesus.  In 1 Timothy 2:5 Paul writes, “For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”  Being rightly related to God through Jesus allows those who are His to approach Him.  Lord, thank You for Jesus and that because of Him I can humbly come to You.
