In Zephaniah 3, Zephaniah is warning Jerusalem of the consequences of their sin. Even though the LORD had been good to them and had dwelt with them, they had rejected Him.  The destruction the LORD brought on the surrounding nations should have served as a deterrent to them, but it did not.  They too will suffer the consequences of their sin.  This happened when Babylon took them into captivity in 605, 597 & 586 B.C..  Yet, there is hope, for the LORD will rescue His remanent and give them new hearts that seek to please Him and He will take away their sin.  This will happen, because the Ultimate King, Jesus, will redeem them through the giving of His own life.  Lord, thank You that You are not intimidated by sin, but instead conquered it through Jesus.
