In Job 38, God speaks after all of Job’s friends and Job have had their say as to why Job was suffering. God’s first statement to Job was, “Who is this that darkens counsel By words without knowledge? Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct me!”  In the midst of his pain and the terrible input from his friends, Job had become frustrated and said things he knew nothing about.  The Lord then asked him question after question that could only be answered with the fact that the LORD alone is almighty and HE alone created and controls all things.  To presume to know all and to be in control is arrogant and an attack on the character of God.  When a person is going through trials, they need to trust the LORD in the midst of the trial and not open their mouth with words without knowledge. LORD, help me trust in You in trials and only open my mouth in praise of Your goodness and work in my life in the trials.
