In Exodus 13 the Lord gave instructions concerning the consecration of the firstborn and the celebration to be held yearly in remembrance of the Lord bringing the Israelites out of Egypt.  The Lord also leads the people in a way that will not discourage them and provides a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night to lead them on their journey.  The thing that stands out to me this morning is the importance that the Lord places on passing on who HE is to the next generation.  The consecration of the firstborn and the feast of unleavened bread were to be used to teach the next generation of the Lord’s power and grace to Israel.  It is important for  me to continually teach my children of the Lord’s power and His grace given to me through Jesus.  Lord, help me be faithful to teach my children of Your awesome power and Your amazing grace.
