In Exodus 12 the LORD instructs the Israelites to prepare for the death angel by killing an unblemished make lamb that is a year old. They are to put blood on the door posts and the lintel of their houses. When the death angel sees the blood then he will pass over their houses and not bring death to them. Instead of the first born child dying, the lamb died in their place. The innocent lamb died so that they would not have to. This of course points to the ultimate Passover Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ. HE was the perfect unblemished lamb who died in my place so that I could be given live, forgiveness and a right relationship with the LORD. Thank You, LORD for the indescribable gift of Jesus.
