Abide Together: Reflections on Jude and Revelation 1

In Jude, the Lord warns through Jude of false teachers who have crept in among them to deceive.  Jude also tells that the end of these false teachers will be just like the end of all false teachers – hell.  Jude appeals to the believers to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.  The faith once for all handed down to the saints is the Gospel of grace through faith in Jesus and it will never change.  Lord, by Your grace may I contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.

In Revelation 1, the Lord gives John a revelation to pass on to the 7 churches that are in Asia.  He reminds the churches of Jesus’ love for them shown in His releasing them from their sins through His blood.  John reminds them that Jesus is coming again.  Lord, may I always be reminded of Your love for me shown in Your releasing me from my sins through Your blood and may this love empower me to tell others of Your love.
