In Matthew 6 Jesus teaches on giving, prayer, fasting and money/possessions.  He makes a big emphasis on not doing these things to be noticed by others.  These are things that are to be done unto the Lord, for His glory. Jesus also says the way a person looks at their possessions, says a lot about their heart.  If gaining more stuff is their goal and causes them to worry then that is where their treasure is, therefore He is not their treasure.  He encourages people to seek His Kingdom and righteousness first, and their needs will be met.  Lord, protect me from doing things to impress others and help me make Your Kingdom and Your righteousness my greatest treasure at all times.
