In Jeremiah 2, Jeremiah speaks for the LORD against Judah. The LORD through Jeremiah reminds the people of how gracious HE had been to them and their forefathers. Yet, they have spurned and forgotten HIS grace by rejecting HIM and going after false gods. The LORD points to the fact that false gods cannot provide for them not protect them against HIS discipline of them. When people put their trust in anything or anyone other than the LORD God Almighty, their end will be destruction. LORD, remind me daily of Your grace toward and in me. By Your grace, empower me to trust in You alone, so that You alone receive all the glory.
