In Joshua 1-2 The Lord charges Joshua to be strong and courageous, because the Lord was going to assure that it happened according to His promises to Moses.  He also charged Joshua to be careful to meditate on His word day and night, so that he would be careful to do all that is written in it.  Joshua act in faith on the Lord’s word and sent 2 spies into Jericho.  They come across a lady name Rahab who helps hide them from the men of the city.  She tells them she knows that the Lord will deliver Jericho into the Israelites hands and asks that they spare her when the city falls.  They promise to do so.  The spies return and report that the Lord has surely given Jericho into their hands. I am always challenged by the Lord’s charge to Joshua to meditate on His word day and night.  Lord, may this be true of me – that I would meditate on Your word day and night and by Your grace put it in practice.
