In Genesis 28 Isaac gives Jacob specific instructions not to take a wife from the Canaanites.  He obeys his father and goes to his mother’s family to find a wife.  Esau, however, spitefully takes a wife from Ishmael’s family, along with the other wives he already had.  On his way to Haran, Jacob has a dream and the Lord and lets him know that the Abrahamic covenant is now being passed on to him.  The Lord reminds him of the blessings of the covenant and that HE will be with Jacob wherever he goes. Jacob responds with worship. I need to daily be reminded of all the blessings I have in Christ and of the fact he will never leave me or forsake me.  Then my response needs to be worship to the LORD.  LORD, thank you for the incredible blessings I have in Christ.  May my life be an act of worship in response to Your work in me and Your amazing blessings in my life.
