Abide Together: Reflections on Genesis 1
In Genesis 1 God through Moses begins His revelation to mankind about Himself by revealing that He is the Sovereign creator of all things. Things did not appear by accident, instead God marvelously created them for His own glory. In six days he created the heavens and the earth and at the end of the sixth day He created the crown of His creation, mankind (male & female). HE made mankind to be fruitful and multiply and to rule over the rest of creation. Moses records that “God saw all that He had made, and behold it was very good.” When I look around at all that God created (even after sin entered the world) I can see that it is very good. God’s creation reminds me of His sovereignty, grace, love, power and beauty. God, thank You for choosing to create the world for Your own glory. By Your grace empower me as your creation to bring You glory and to use the other things you have created to bring You glory.
