In Psalm 23 David records his Shepherd’s Psalm.  This is probably the most recognized scripture in all the Bible. The fact that the Lord is David’s Shepherd gives him great hope and courage.  The Lord protects, provides, strengthens, leads, comforts and does it all perfectly.  This causes David to write, “My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”  Knowing that the LORD is my shepherd as well, causes me to rejoice and have hope and courage.  LORD, help me live in the light of the fact that YOU are my shepherd, with hope and courage.
