In Genesis 29 Jacob makes it to Haran and finds Rachel, his uncle Laban’s daughter. He asks for Rachel’s hand in marriage and agrees to work 7 years for the privilege to marry her. He works 7 years and Laban deceives him and gives him Leah instead.  He then agrees to work another 7 years for Rachel.  The Lord gives him 4 sons through Leah.  Ironically, Jacob (who deceived Esau twice) is deceived by Laban.  This possibly is used to wake up Jacob about the sinfulness of deception.  This account also reminds me that even though mankind sins, the LORD will still accomplish His plan of redemption spite of sin.  Lord, help me be truthful in all my ways, so that You are glorified.
