In Exodus 2 Moses’ mother tries to hide him so he won’t be killed by the Egyptians.  At 3 months old, she can no longer hide him, so she puts him in a basket and places it in the Nile.  Her sister watched the basket end up in the hands of Pharaoh’s daughter.  Moses’ Aunt then offered to get a Hebrew woman to nurse the baby on behalf of the princess.  She got Moses’ mother to come and nurse him.  Moses grew up as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.  When he grew older he actually killed an Egyptian in order to protect a Hebrew.  Pharaoh wanted to kill Moses, so Moses fled to the desert of Midian. The thing that sticks out to me is that the LORD was in control of the whole situation, in order to fulfill HIS plan of bringing redemption for the world through the Nation of Israel – ultimately fulfilled in Jesus.  He made sure that Moses was found by Pharaoh’s daughter so he could have audience with the Pharaoh one day and lead his people out of bondage.  HE made sure that Moses was well taken care of when he was a baby, by having Moses’ mother nurse him.  I should not be surprise at this, for the LORD is always working out HIS plan to redeem from every tribe, tongue, people and nation.  Thank You LORD for Your unfailing love and Your faithfulness to Your promises.
