In Acts 9 Luke records the conversion of Saul.  Saul, with authority given by the high priest, was on his way to persecute Christians in Damascus when the Lord Jesus appeared to him.  He instructed him to go Damascus where Ananias would be waiting for him.   The Lord prepared Ananias to receive Saul.  Saul received the Holy Spirit and was baptized and then began to preach Jesus to the very people he had come to persecute.  Saul, because of his bold proclamation of the Gospel, now became the persecuted.  At the end of the Chapter, Luke records Peter, by the power of Jesus, raising Tabitha from the dead.  The thing that sticks out to me is the immediate and dramatic change of heart and action after Saul was given new life Jesus.  When God the Holy Spirit comes into a person and they are given a new heart, that person cannot help but change.  Thank you Lord for the change you have brought in me through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.
